Rules and Guidelines

Rules and guidelines for the community are defined in the Declaration of Protective Restrictions (DPR) including:

  • Restrictions on the use, occupancy, lease and transfer of property

  • General building, architectural and planning requirements (see Architectural Review)

These provisions are clarified in the document “Rules and Guidelines”. A “Summary of Declaration of Protective Restrictions” is also provided.

As explained in DPR Article VIII Section 2 “Interpretation of Restrictions”, the intent of the rules are to be the “minimum requirements adopted for the promotion of the health, safety, comfort, convenience and general welfare of the owners and occupants of said property”.

The rules are applicable to all owners and tenants, regardless of whether or not they are members of the homeowners association.

In addition to the requirements for architectural review, the restrictions include provisions such as residential use, nuisances, rubbish or debris, pets, short term rentals and rv’s/boats/trailers as well as requirements to maintain landscaping, sidewalks and exterior appearance.

See the additional requirements for real estate agents and escrow agents as well as contractors on their pages.
