HOA Board Update

Greetings from a reopened bunker!

Hope everyone is well and getting out and about as we enjoy some renewed freedoms.

Our monthly HOA board meeting was held on June 11th and wanted to pass on some updates real time (vs. posted on our website). Our meeting was held via Zoom once again, however we are hopeful that our next meeting can return to Quail Lodge, face to face. For the first time, we altered our agenda and created a new "members forum" where we give time to any member wishing to address a topic, ask a question, make a statement, give us money (ok, threw that last one in just see if you're paying attention!). We had a small number of members join us and our meeting was productive. The minutes to this meeting have been posted on our website but wanted to provide some key points;
- We discussed buy vs. leasing security cameras. As of this writing no leasing programs are available so we are discussing the quote and how to proceed. Total cost to purchase a full system is $17,000 with an annual cost to run around $2000. We will be discussing the funding mechanism and getting this done before the summer is over.
- Phone calls were finally completed with Mary Adams, our county superintendent and she is painfully aware of our plight with our roads. She and her staff are lobbying on our behalf to get the long awaited engineering report no later than mid July.
- We discussed banning gas powered leaf blowers. We all agreed to leave this alone and not ban any gas powered equipment, but continue our "hours of operations"
- We discussed signage and if we should adopt any further restrictions or clarifications. We decided to leave our current practice alone and to monitor sign activity as this new election season approaches.
- We discussed the need to adopt rules around parking on streets and "quantity" of cars per household. We agreed to leave this alone and monitor specific areas.

It would appear that our mailbox issues may finally be behind us with no new reports of the boxes being left open by the postal workers. If you see a box unlocked, please report it to a HOA board member asap.

Rumours of car break-ins taking place inside Carmel City limits - just passing this along to always be careful and lock your valuables out of sight.

Lastly, we have decided to postpone any social activities until more is known via the county regulations for gatherings and use of masks. Stay tuned because we would all like to get together, in person, and celebrate life yet again!!!!

Stay well, stay safe.
